Built originally in 1610, the Chapel of
San Miguel por Barrio de Analco, in Santa Fe, New Mexico is the
oldest church in America. It was renovated in 1626 by Fr. Alonso
de Benavides.
The original adobe structure was erected,
under the supervision of Franciscan Fiars, by Tlaxcala Indians
from Mexico.
